There were cartoons of a vaguely frightening quality on and a massive bowl of Trix that Arashi refused to eat.

Oh yeah, it was safe to say that Deadpool was unaware of the imminent doom in humanoid form heading his way this morning.

"Oh, Bugs Bunny, when did you get so edgy?"

"Our Father is a benny-vole-ant dictator!" Terry was good at this game.

"An' a telepath an' a telekinetic and he's got his own island and he used to be a soldier but now he's Jesus!"

Pause.

"An' a mutant primadonna."

She still didn't know what that meant.

"Yes!" Terry paused, looking to her sister... Right?

"Everybody on Providence is happy 'cause we're working towards a better future." Right!

"An' father's scientists figured out how to make free ice cream."

Okay, ice cream was important.

Which was a damn dirty lie, but Kayuu didn't know that, right?

"An' there's no milk in it so the earth doesn't get overberdinated with life stocks."

Jean had absolutely no clue what that meant, but father had said it once, and it sounded really impressive.

That got another weird look. "But it's not ice cream without milk."

...Terry turned to look at Jean, tilting her head to the side. "Is it Popsicles then?"

"It's ice cream," Jean repeated, and her eyes were glowing a little bit, and the Phoenix emblem became visible over one of her eyes. "Just's got substi-- subsi. Subsithing. You're stupid."

Also a technique she'd learned-- but not yet perfected-- from her father.

"Your eye is glowing..." Karyuu said backing away.

Glowing things happened with his big brother and they didn't mean good things.

"Tha's 'cause we're the Phoenix!" Terry said, standing up straight and proud.

"Jus' like clone-grandma! And Rachel."

Rachel was important.

So Jean floated the couch up a little bit.

If so he was soooo running.

Terry paused, poking at his head mentally. "Wha's that?"

"We're totally cooler than the Kyuubi," Jean said, stubbornly, floating up more household items to prove her point. "Just ask Daddy."

Karyuu winced at the poke. "Heeey!" He said backing up towards the kitchen. "Stop that! You're both weird!!"

"Are not!" Terry frowned, grabbing Jean's hand to strengthen the TK.

"We're mutants an' Summerses an' Deadpools," Jean said, frowning as well.

Because being a Summers totally implied normalcy on all levels.

At this point, almost everything in the living room that wasn't nailed down was floating.

"DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADS!!" Karyuu screamed as the rug was literally pulled out from under him.

That would be a Deadpool running in from the kitchen now.

And blinking.

"Bad! No rearranging the furniture!"

Arashi rushed out after Wade. "Girls! Put the furniture down!!"

Yes he was thrilled to see his son again... just more worried about the furniture.

"We're not weird," Jean said, as the furniture slowly-- slowly-- father had taught her gently-- "We're just different."

That's what father said, too. The Phoenix aura died down, and the girl just slumped a little. "He's my daddy."
