"I get shot a lot." That made a lil' attempted murder okay. Really.

He continued to pick at the arm of the couch, trying to figure out what to say and how to be tactful about it.

"I don't trust you."

That... was not tact.

"With anything?" Arashi blinked.

"I don't know," Wade replied slowly. "I just know that I don't with some things."

A beat.

"Like telling me the truth about stuff."

Arashi nodded silently.

"Do you beleive me when I say that I still love you?"

"That's good at least," he sighed sadly.

"I... I'm sorry you feel you can't trust me Wade. I did come back to you like I promised I would-" Arashi paused and looked away.

"...need to go start the laundry."

That poor couch was going to have a hole in it soon at the rate he was picking.

Right. He wasn't going to get snippy here. This was a mature emotional conversation about mature things.

"But you still lied."

Arashi stopped in the doorway and closed his eyes. "Wade... I'm not going to argue this with you. All I will say... once more. I was not getting revenge for Jiraiya's death. I did not go out intentionally looking for a fight. I was at the wrong place at the wrong time and met the wrong person."

"You said you were gonna stay in the village."

"At that time I was; things changed. Should I have called you for permission to leave?" He frowned.

"I woulda liked to know, yes!" Wade snapped.

"So I have to call into you to ask permission for everything I do, like you're my father?" Arashi turned to look at Wade sharply.

"You were gone for a month!" Wade shot back. "Something woulda been nice to hear!"

"You knew I was going to be gone! I had originally told you I wouldn't be back until September!" He reminded him, almost in a pleading way. "It's not like there is cellphone service in Konoha!"

"You coulda sent a frog thing!"

It made sense. Really.

"Or just told me the freaking truth that you'd be going on a mission!"

"I didn't know that I would be then!"

He started to argue again and then stopped and signed. "Wade let's stop. I'm tired of arguing about this when we're just going around in circles!"

Wade wished he had another dinosaur around to stab.

"I can't! This isn't gonna just go away!"

"No it's not!" He started again, his voice getting aggitated. "I agree it's not going to go away! We're both right on this, and we're both wrong! I'm jsut so tired of arguing with you! All I want is to be home again with my husband, possibly in bed or on the couch and have us be happy together!"

"I don't know if I can do the happy thing for you right now, Arashi," Wade hissed. "Maybe if ya order me to, that'll help."

Issues didn't even begin to cover what was wrong with him now.

"....Wait. What? If I order you to?" He blinked totally not expecting that?

"I'm not going to order you," Arashi continued. "You don't order the person you love to be happy, you do your best to actually make them happy."

"You did it back in your village," Wade replied. "Before I left. Remember?"

"I didn't order you to be happy," he frowned and rubbed his forehead wishing there could magically be a transcrpt of the conversation because Arashi was fairly sure they weren't remembering it the same way. "And I was teasing, we used to be able to do that with each other."

"It sure as hell didn't seem that way to me," He said, looking away.

Taking a deep breath Arashi walked over to Wade and rested his head against him. "I want you to be happy," he said. "I love you and I still want to be with you. I'm sorry if you think that you can't trust me anymore, but I'm not leaving you unless you force me. Which as of this point. You haven't."

He leaned in closely to give Wade a chaste kiss, if the mercenary let him.

Wade didn't move one way or the other.

"I'll sleep on the couch."

Arashi straightened up sharply, the hurt very apparent in his eyes as he backstepped quickly away. "Good night then," he whispered. "Come on Max, you can sleep in the big bed."

Yes, he was taking the fox to bed! It just showed how upset he was.
