Oh yes, you could tell it was a proper Marvel bar when people didn't so much as look twice at a guy in a red costume, carrying swords and guns wandered on in. There might have even been a small group at the end of the bar in horrifyingly bright colors that showed off their career choices.

No, not drag performers.

Or actors.

"I think we're supposed to start on beer. Or is it liquor? I'm pretty sure it's beer, though. Just as long as you don't drink anything girly after."

Anakin made a face at him. "I don't drink girly things." Unless Rory ordered them for him. "I like whiskey."

And cocktail umbrellas.

He stretched his legs, feeling a little self-conscious in a pair of jeans and a sweater. "Do you know all of the be-spandexed beings at the bar?" He smiled. "And can we take them all in a fight?"

Deadpool peered over at the group. "Nah, probably a bunch of newbies that will die in the next cross over event that will change the very face of our fragile universe."

A beat.

"So, next Tuesday."

He was so kind to them.

"But yeah, we could totally kick their asses. Now, if we'd gone elsewhere, we mighta run into the Punisher and no one wants to deal with him. Man is insane. And this is coming from me."

"Well, he named himself the Punisher," Anakin said, rolling his eyes and signaling for a beer. "It's like a Zabrak I knew once named Savage Opress. I mean, really. Try a little harder."

"And his symbol is a skull on a t-shirt," Deadpool added. Because it was cute.

Anakin snorted. "Of course it is. Does he listen to a lot of terrible metal bands?"

"No, he pretty much just kills people. A lot."

"Oh, the extreme form of punishment," Anakin replied. "Though I guess that's better than a guy in a skull t-shirt handing out spankings."

Deadpool stared at him in horror. "I can never unsee that."

"You can if you drink enough," Anakin replied. "Shots?"

"You owe me so many," Deadpool replied, flagging down the bartender.

"Hey," Anakin retorted. "You asked me here."

"The Punisher, spanking people!"

He thought about it. "I get this round and you get the next, as long as you promise not to order buttery nipples."

"Skywalker, you cad."

"Just being thorough," Anakin said with a tiny smile.

"Barhop! Two of your best slippery nipples and two shots of whiskey!" Deadpool said, waving at the poor, unimpressed man.

Anakin would have thumped his head against the bar, but who knew where it had been. "The whiskeys are for me?" he asked hopefully.

"It's so nice to see you still have a sense of humor," Deadpool replied, shoving the girly shots over at Anakin. "Now drink up, we haven't even got into a bar fight and had SHIELD called on us."

Anakin made a face but picked up the shot glass. "Well, it's as good a plan as any," he decided.

"Another five of those and it will be a fabulous idea," Deadpool reminded him.

"Maybe six," Anakin said. "I'm no lightweight."

Well, he hadn't been, but he also hadn't been to a bar in two years.

"And you're also not a cheap date, but we don't hold that against you." Yet. "So, should we start macho posturing now? I've got stories."

"Oh, do tell," Anakin said, reaching for the second shot. "Beat up anyone at school I know and don't like?"

"I'm not allowed to do that anymore," Deadpool whined. "Not even that Max guy!"

"Why not?" Anakin demanded sulkily. "He's such an asshole." He turned to the bartender. "Tequila shots, please."

Because nights that started with tequila shots always ended well.
