There were some perks to waking up as a seven year old. Boundless energy, super stealth capabilities, water guns suddenly held an interest...

But that also meant he was too short to reach the best cereal. Yes, even if he climbed up on the counter top.

So, there he was. Poking at the idiot in bed to get him up. "I'm huuuungry."

Nate stirred, blinking fuzzily. A child's voice cut into his subconscious. Right...

He reached deep down into an Askani breathing pattern in order to rouse himself better, and came face to face with...

"Ah."

"Cereal," Wade reminded him patiently. While stile poking at the metal thing on his neck.

Nate brought up a hand to bat away Wade's. "Go sit in the dining room," he said, because... direct orders might work while he figured out what was going on here.

Which would be a big ol' no.

"Why?" Wade asked, sitting back on his heels.

"Because that's where the cereal is."

Askani preserve him.

"But why?"

Nate, meet the most impossible child ever. HAVE FUN.

"Because you can stay here," Nate said, "And not get any cereal otherwise."

Oh, of course.

"...but why?"

... That line of questioning wasn't going to get either of them anywhere. "Because," said Nate, firmly, and got up off the bed.

He was... feeling glad he'd put on his boxer-briefs last night.

"That's not an answer," Wade replied cheerfully, trailing on after him.

"Sit down and you might get one," Nate said, unruffled.

His next destination was going to be the bathroom. To get some Advil or something.

"That's not the kitchen!" Wade was making a dash for the living room, though. There was a TV! A TV!

"Bright Lady, this can't get any worse," Nate muttered under his breath. "Don't touch the television!"

"Why not?" Wade asked, already pushing buttons on the remote.

Nate had two options:

1) He could explain why and suffer several more bouts of questions, or
2) He could lift Wade up into the air telekinetically and keep him there while he went into the bathroom and got a much-needed painkiller.

Three guesses which one he went for.

"HEY! PUT ME DOWN!" Wade screamed at the top of his lungs. "PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN! PUT ME DOWN!"

And was well on his way to hyperventilating by sheer force of will. It was a good way to get out of trouble, alright?

Nate merely went through a few Askani mantras in his head. Experience had taught them they worked fairly well when you were trying to block out someone rambling about something stupid.

So while Wade hyperventilated, he calmly took a painkiller out of the cabinet, filled up a glass of water, and dropped the pill in. He gave the glass some consideration, then lifted it up and took a long chug from it.

Much better.

"Not on the carpet," Nate said, as he idly strolled back into the living room. "It's yours."

"Huuuuurl," Wade continued to whine, flailing about as you do.

"Don't be a baby," Nate said, collapsing on the couch.

"You're a jerk!"

"Say please," he said, calmly, and put his feet up on the table.

His powers were starting to strain a little, in a distant fashion, but it was something of a relief that they didn't strain more.

"No!" Wade replied stubbornly. "You can't make me!"

"Then you can stay up there," Nate said, reaching for the paper, "And hurl."
