There was an America's Next Top Model marathon on the TV, but Deadpool wasn't paying it any attention. There was an overly affectionate kitten in his lap, and he was only petting it distractedly, ignoring the other kitten who was attempting to gnaw is ankle off.

He was just... waiting.

Quietly.

Patiently.

This could not bode well.

The anger dissipated suddenly as Nate's -- (NOT Nate. He's dead, damn it.)-- words took effect.

"You're hurt, Aly," He said in a softer tone. "I'm fine with getting hurt so you all don't have to be, I just... This is worse, okay?"

She reached out to brush her hand over his arm. "It's worse for me to see you there and thinking you were dead."

Which calmed him as much as Nate's words from before.

"No more solo shit for anyone, okay? We get our asses kicked, we do it together."

Aly smiled at that. "Damn straight. Which means you and Arashi better be there cause Anakin and I might have a plan."

Wade shifted, slightly uncomfortable at the mention of Arashi. "When?"

"Tonight. At J,GOB. Then tomorrow for the attack, I think. No point in waiting any longer."

She looked up, worry in her eyes. "What's wrong with Arashi?"

"Oooo! Pastries and tactics, good choice." He did love donuts so.

"Nothing's wrong with him," Deadpool replied, a touch defensively.

"Also we can keep the squirrels away," Aly grinned. She raised an eyebrow. "Are you guys still fighting?"

"Nooo." That might be a pout. "I just happen to enjoy sleeping on the couch recently."

"Because you're still pissed that he went to see Umbridge?" Aly...was totally confused.

Wade looked off. Hey, was that a bug? "The... Nate... thing."

That was bad.

"Did you explain the note?"

"Haven't really talked much since Wednesday," Wade admitted, still avoiding eye contact.

"'sides, don't even know if that's not just me having another nervous breakdown. They come and go."

"Because I'm sure that'll go over well," Wade replied with a sigh. "'Oh, no, I wasn't calling you Nate! I was just hallucinating him!'"

"Around here? Yeah, maybe it would," Aly told him. "And if Arashi's been noticing the weird instances with you too, it might make sense to him."

Wade leaned forward, elbows resting on his knees. "And if it doesn't? And he leaves?"

"If that's the worry, I don't think letting him think you called him by-" she failed at defining that relationship, "-Nate's name is going to help."

Friend. They were friends. You know, when they weren't trying to control or kill each other.

"Want me to talk to him?" she asked.

"You would?" Wade asked, disbelieving.

"Of course," Aly replied, shocked that he'd think otherwise. "Friend, remember?"

And that would be a mercenary hugging her. Gently due to the injuries, but hugging nonetheless. "Best. Friend. Ever."

Aly hugged him back, not caring about her injuries at all. "Well, duh," she murmured.

"Shut up, not like I was social other than going on a job or hanging out with Nate and Weasel before coming here." He... could get used to the hugging.

"Exactly," Aly told him, completely for the hugging right now too. "That's why I know it's true."
