He wasn't in a hotel room. This was good.

And there was still a husband. And a hungover minion downstairs.

Interesting.

He wanted waffles now. So, he was in the kitchen. Making waffles.

"Mmm, waffly goodness."

Deadpool patted her on the shoulder, still a safe distance from potential vomiting. "Yes, well these things you learn usually after going to a hospital."

"That like the clinic?" she asked, making a face. "We don't have 'em, where I'm from. You either get a healer in time or you ... don't. I should be all 'yay clinic' but wow, do I hate being there. Waking up all 'hi, sorry, I messed up, can't really fight. Thanks.'"

Deadpool sighed and sat down on the couch next to her. "While I normally do think drinking helps lots with issues, I think training would be better."

Rikku paused, then finally said it out loud.

"I don't think I'm a fighter. Not for real." Deep breath. "I think they took me along so I wouldn't get hurt. And just called me a Guardian so I wouldn't mind being baby-sat."

"Well that's not true!" Wade replied, putting an arm over her shoulders. "You do damn good in a fight."

Rikku shook her head, but leaned into the touch. "My instincts are all shot. When he took out my Godhand, then I should've used my other hand and grabbed a knife. And I keep screwing up. Hamlet died and Valentine's world blew up and I let that creepy dude in the woods get my blind spot, and Harth knocked me out, and ... I should be better than this."

Deadpool sighed again. "Then you train to be able to fight with anything. Hell, I know how to fight with weapons that I will probably never see again because there's always that chance."

Rikku considered, then swallowed. "Can you teach me that? I want to ... I want to be better. I like fighting, and the throwdown and the rush and ... maybe I don't care if that makes me ... bloodthirsty or whatever. It's incredible. Even when it's terrifying. You know?"

"Not a problem, kid, not a problem." That might even be a hug there!

Rikku was always about the hugs. "I, uh. Sorry I ... ended up at your house? I just ... you know. Knew it was stupid and didn't care. 'Cause that's smart."

"Welcome to the club," Deadpool replied. "We have t-shirts and bad decisions all over the place!"

"We were gonna make t-shirts," Rikku said brightly. "For the other club. The one about how saving the world usually sucks a lot. 'Cause it does."

He hugged her again. "It does. But it gets better."

"Yeah," she said faintly. "Hope so. Guess it has to, sooner or later, right?"

Deadpool hugged her again. "Darkest before the dawn and various other cheesy lines about hope." He was bad at this, shut up. "You can break my knee until you feel better."

"Not gonna break your knee," she laughed, hugging him back. "Bad enough I puked in your house and all. Uh. Thanks. And ... I do wanna learn. Training stuff. If you don't mind?"

"Of course not!" Deadpool replied. "I might get other minions, but you and Turtle will always be my favorites. Don't tell the others that though."

Rikku beamed. "Totally won't. Besides, we're old-school and all. Rights of seniority or whatever."

See, Rikku totally understood things. She was the best minion ever. other than Turtle. They were equal. Totally.

"You feeling well enough for more water?"

"I think so," she nodded. "Yeah. Uh. Hey. Thanks? For being all awesome and ... yeah. You know."

"Ooooh, really?" Rikku considered. "Think I, uh, think I'll be able to ... keep 'em down?"

Wade patted her on the shoulder, standing up. "I'll bring you some then. Just... try to make it to the bucket if you need to puke."
