Apartment Above Wellspring Arms, Saturday Morning

When Wade woke up this morning, he hadn't been exactly expecting a number of things. First and foremost being the small ginger girl sitting at the end of the super large bed, staring at him. So, he did the reasonable thing and stared back.

"I'm hungry," the girl announced.

This could only end badly for the kitchen.

Nate sat up, alert and aware. "...You're not getting my food," he told the girl.

Jan stared from one to the other. "You're weird," she declared before slipping off the bed to make the dog help her get cereal.

"She better not eat all the food," Wade grumbled.

"That wouldn't be good," Nate agreed, slipping out of bed quickly. "We should get there. Now."

"She's, like, a baby! How much can she eat?"

Give him a second. "Wait, why is there some kid here?"

"Maybe she lives here," Nate volunteered. "Seems logical."

"But this is where I live!" A beat. "I think."

"You think or you know?"

Damn Nate and his logic.

Wade responded to that as best he could. By throwing a pillow at Nate's head.

Which obviously meant Nate had to get back on the bed and tackle Wade.

"HEY!" Yeah, this was sadly not too different from normal disagreements between them. Wade grabbed another pillow to smack Nate with. "Stoppit!"

"You shouldn't have started it," Nate countered. At least he was a lot less stoic yet?

He reached out to try and snag the pillow out of Wade's hands.

"You were being dumb!" Wade replied, relinquishing that pillow for... what appeared to be a stuffed giraffe.

So Nate clobbered him over the head with the pillow quite thoroughly, thanks.

"You're a dweeb!" Wade shouted, smacking him back with the giraffe.

"Flonq that!" Nate said, hotly.

What? His parents weren't around.

He smacked Wade with the pillow again.

"...What? That's not even a word!" Oh, he went there, Nate.

"Oh, it definitely is," Nate countered.

He could prove it because he was winning.

"NUH UH!" Yeah, like Wade was going to let this go unchecked. God help that bedroom.

"You're being stupid!" Jan crowed from the entrance. "I'll hit you!"

Wade just rolled his eyes. "You're a girl."

OH SNAP.

"Dumb!" Jan repeated. She needed to find something to hit him with, obviously.

"She's right," Nate added, and smacked Wade with the pillow again while he was distracted.
